According to BBC Sports and Bild, the 24-year-old Senegalese forward is closing in on a loan switch to the Bundesliga champions after both clubs reached an agreement earlier this week.

His absence from recent friendlies and Chelsea’s Premier League match against West Ham on August 22 added fuel to the transfer speculation.

Jackson, who netted 13 goals in 37 appearances last season, has struggled for consistent minutes amid Chelsea’s influx of new talent, including forwards Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

The move to Bayern offers a fresh opportunity for the forward to regain form and regular playing time.

“Jackson still has huge potential, but with competition intensifying at Chelsea, this move could be vital for his development,” a source close to the club commented.

Despite falling down the pecking order, Jackson’s overall career stats are impressive. Across four seasons with Chelsea and Villarreal, he’s played 100 matches, scored 36 goals, and provided 14 assists.

In the 2024–25 season alone, he contributed 10 goals and 5 assists in 30 appearances.

His contract with Chelsea runs until 2033, which suggests the club still views him as a long-term asset. However, the loan move indicates a short-term strategy to help the striker find form elsewhere.

With Bayern’s need for attacking reinforcements and Jackson’s drive to prove himself, the move is seen by analysts as a win-win.
