After a tightly contested first half, Mikel Arteta’s side produced a decisive attacking spell, scoring three times between the 64th and 71st minutes to claim their second victory of this season’s Champions League campaign.

Timber opened the scoring in the 64th minute with an impressive individual finish. The defender received a pass from Noni Madueke inside the penalty area before lifting the ball over Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer to give Arsenal the lead.

The breakthrough lifted the atmosphere at the Emirates, and Arsenal quickly capitalised on their momentum to double their advantage.

Three minutes later, Eze finished a swift counter-attacking move after Martin Odegaard linked up with Bruno Guimaraes, whose pass allowed Saka to provide the assist for the England international.

Saka then completed the scoring in the 71st minute, shortly after entering the game as a substitute.

The winger exchanged passes with Odegaard before Kai Havertz returned the ball to him, allowing Saka to guide his finish into the bottom corner.

The goal capped a commanding spell for Arsenal, whose clinical finishing turned a closely fought encounter into a comfortable victory within seven minutes.

According to Arsenal’s match report, the strike was Saka’s 19th goal in European competition for the club, making him Arsenal’s second-highest European goalscorer behind Thierry Henry.

The victory also extended Arsenal’s winning run in the Champions League league phase to 14 consecutive matches, leaving them three short of Bayern Munich’s record of 17, according to the club.

Lille had briefly threatened to take the lead in the first half when Ayase Ueda found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a video assistant referee review.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya also contributed to the result with a clean sheet. The appearance brought him level with David Seaman’s record of 38 Champions League appearances by an Arsenal goalkeeper.

The result offered Arsenal another encouraging European performance, with the team demonstrating both defensive discipline and attacking efficiency after the interval.
