Fuji icon Adewale Ayuba denies online rumours of divorce and paternity scandal, calling the report false and vowing legal action against the blogger

Veteran Fuji musician Dr Adewale Ayuba has strongly denied an online report alleging a divorce and paternity scandal involving his wife, Azuka Ego, describing the claims as “unfounded and malicious.”

In a statement released via Instagram and signed by his management, Ayuba clarified that he and his wife have been happily married for over 30 years, not one year as falsely reported by an unnamed blogger.

“There is absolutely no truth, not a single iota, in this cooked-up story. Dr Adewale Ayuba and his wife, Mrs Azuka Ego, are happily married, and their wonderful children are doing very well,” the statement read.

The singer’s team condemned the rumour as a cheap attempt to smear his reputation, warning that such malicious misinformation would not go unchallenged.

The disputed report, which surfaced on social media, alleged that Ayuba had “broken his silence” over a supposed paternity dispute and divorce.

It also claimed the couple’s marriage lasted only a year — a key error Ayuba’s team highlighted as evidence of inaccuracy and fabrication.

“This reckless blogger stated their marriage only lasted one year. For the record, they have been happily married for well over thirty years! This fundamental error alone exposes the story as a complete fabrication,” the statement continued.

Ayuba’s family stressed that no paternity issue has ever arisen in their marriage and that the story was an attempt to drag a peaceful family into public ridicule.

The singer’s team confirmed that legal consultations are ongoing, and all necessary steps will be taken to hold the individual behind the post accountable.

“We are currently consulting with our lawyers to pursue all available legal remedies against this irresponsible individual,” they said. “We will not allow Dr Adewale Ayuba’s integrity to be attacked without consequences.”

Ayuba, who celebrated his 60th birthday earlier this year, remains a respected figure in the Nigerian music industry.
