ADC Cross River condemns hijack attempt, affirms unity under Chairman Dr John Oga, and reiterates commitment to people-centred democratic principles

The Cross River State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned efforts by non-members to interfere with the party’s structure, affirming its unity under the leadership of State Chairman Ambassador Dr John Oga.

Speaking to journalists in Calabar, the state capital, Vice Chairman for the Central Senatorial District, Dr Mcphalane Ejah, described the unauthorised activities as a troubling development orchestrated by individuals not recognised by the party.

Dr Mcphalane Ejah commended the commitment of party members across the state to the growth of the ADC and emphasised the party’s dedication to people-centred development and democratic governance.

“As an opposition party, ADC in Cross River State is committed to people-centric development, placing the interests of the people at heart. We believe that the will of the people should prevail and be respected.

We reject impunity and imposition and will not tolerate actions or attitudes that undermine the democratic will of the people,” he said.

He further clarified that there is no faction within the ADC in Cross River State and that all operations strictly adhere to the party constitution.

The only recognised leadership remains headed by Ambassador Dr John Oga.

The statement underscores the party’s stance against internal disruption and its focus on advancing development initiatives through legitimate and constitutional processes.
